Yellow and Orange
June 14, 2011
At this rate, I’m hoping to have enough pinup illos to make up a short book to take to APE and Geek Girl Con! This summer is going to be unusually busy, so why not throw a whole new book into the mix, right?
If nothing else, they will definitely be making an appearance in print form, because they look great on paper!

For Bay View Gallery Night — Red Steel
May 15, 2011
Brent and I recently joined up with the Milwaukee Makerspace (that’s us on the front page building a vacuuform!) to keep our skills sharp… and to have 24 hour access to large tools and epic workspace… and they are participating in the upcoming Bay View Gallery Night on June 5th! As such, I will have a wall of pretty ladies to look at — I’m trying to complete a “prism of pinups”, and I’ve more or less finished work on Red; only five more to go!:

Speed paint 4/22/11

Fabric/value study. Not 100% happy with this one, but I can at least look back and analyze what I can do to tighten it up.
Damn, look at the severity in that expression. She’s disappointed in you.

First Vectors of 2011
January 22, 2011
I’ve been pretty obsessed with the work of Ragnar lately, especially after picking up a signed copy of his Symptomatica book while we were exhibiting at the Alternative Press Expo this last October. This guy can throw down with some vectors, and studying his works have been helping me understand the human figure in terms of vector illustration.
I also recently completed a commission for a friend of mine who graciously edited the Legend of En book while we were still in production. She requested that part of her payment be in the form of an illustration of an original character of hers. This commission was immensely fun to work on — drawing cyborg arms is definitely on my list of Favorite Things to Illustrate

Geisha Fish 2.0
April 06, 2010
It would appear that my GI tract is still… iffy. Painfully iffy. So all I can do is illustrate and hope it goes away. Maybe I’ll go to the doctor soon. Maybe.
Based on a multimedia piece I did many years ago in college, I decided to revisit the idea of a geisha koi with my new vector/illustrative abilities.

Rocket Mountain
March 24, 2010
I’ve been feeling rather ill lately, and I can’t seem to muster up a whole bunch of creativity. In an effort to relax between trips to the bathroom, I decided to make a new brush in Photoshop and make something out of random shapes and strokes.
